September brought many things--including my birthday. For one thing, I got to share an episode about the gifts of intimacy on my big day. Even better than that? I had three expert guests from very different walks of life join me in revealing how intimacy is a universal solution to what we need in the world. Before she hopped over to be on The Today Show, I got to interview Dr. Neha Sangwan. Neha is a two-time author, founder of the Conscious Business Leadership Academy, a long-time medical doctor, and a burnout specialist. She shared how intimate knowledge of our bodies' signals can help us alleviate burnout-inducing stress. Her new book on burnout is just out and well worth picking up if you're dealing with burnout. As much as I love talking to other burnout specialists, my next guest episode had me just a bit starry-eyed. 🤩 See, I'm a lifelong sports fan. So it was super cool to talk with David Lloyd, one of the longest tenured anchors of ESPN SportsCenter. Yeah, we talked a little bit about sports. But mostly we talked about the importance of male friendship, the difficult job that parenting is, and a story that every guy should steal to make their wife love them even more. To round off the month, I finally put the spotlight onto the topic everyone thinks of first when they hear the word intimacy: Sex. The conversation I had with Eric FitzMedrud, Ph.D. focused on the most critical skill that men can develop to create deeply intimate bonds with a romantic partner. (Or as Eric says, "hotter sex!") Eric is a licensed psychotherapist who also just launched a fantastic new book, one that should be at the top of every adult man's list. These three folks are at the top of their professions. They work in very different industries in very different ways that they serve. And each of these experts agree: Intimacy is the universal solution. Don't just take it from me. Listen to the experts! Thanks, Jim New episodes every Thursday.

As I grew from boyhood into manhood, I was handed a set of cultural beliefs that told me to go it alone, never ask for help, and to prove my manliness at every turn. Today, I'm here to call bullsh*t on all that.
Condensed Intimacy - August 2023 Dispatches from the Expansive Intimacy podcast I didn't expect or plan for the words "power" and "courage" to be so prominent when I started a podcast on, of all things, intimacy. But the answers sometimes reveal themselves before we even know the questions to ask. And of course it now makes sense that those words would accompany a term that can be downright terrifying due to its powerful implications. To reveal ourselves intimately to another person--to share...
Condensed Intimacy - July 2023 Dispatches from the Expansive Intimacy podcast The word "tension" has been on my mind lately. Summertime often leads me to look at the tension between the time I put into my work and time spent resting, relaxing, and playing. Of course, I feel the tension that seems to be continually tightening around the political, climate, and economic realms here in the U.S. and around the world. I'm also in the middle of a 6-month course where I'm learning about somatic...
